The Workforce Education Center is a training arm of the Division of Adult and Continuing Education at LaGuardia Community College (CUNY) in Queens. Our programs are designed to serve the diverse multi-cultural population of New York City.

Who is eligible:

• Public Assistance or Low Income Recipients
• Recent High School Dropouts
• 17-21 Years of Age

We provide free training for:

• GED\College Preparation
• Career Development
• Internship
• Community Service Project
• Occupational Skills Training
• Cultural Diversity/Cultural Awareness
• Counseling Services
• Adventure Based Counseling
• Micro Computer Applications
• Family Day
• Speaker/Lecture Series
• Support Services
• Summer Youth Employment
• Transportation

All Documents must be presented at registration time.

Program Requirements:

• High School Discharge Letter (if under age 19)
• Birth Certificate
• Income Support Center Case Number, Name & Telephone Number of Case Worker
• Aid for Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) Identification card
• Proof of Family Income
• Alien Registration (GREEN) Identification card
• Proof of Selective Service Registration (Males 18 and older)
• Proof of Residency
• Social Security card
• Immunization Record
• High School Transcript
• PPD (Tuberculosis) Test
• MUST SCORE 8.0 ON READING AND MATH TEST

Students must be committed to attending classes
