Veterans Affairs

LaGuardia is proud to have many veterans within our faculty, staff and student body. The college has two main centers for Veterans support services.

The Office of Veterans Affairs Office offers a full range of counseling services for the veterans in the LaGuardia degree program. They provide information on benefits, including Financial Aid opportunities, available to veteran-students and dependents of disabled veterans. They also assist veterans with any questions or problems they have while attending the college.

The Center for Veterans, Youth and Adults provides free evening GED classes for military veterans, youth (at least 18 year-olds) and adults who read above a 7th grade level. Applicants enroll on a "rolling admissions" basis from September to April and classes end in June. The Center also provides information and referrals for military veterans looking for academic programs and career assistance.
