Governance & Student Conduct Code

The LaGuardia Senate is the governing body of the college. Its membership consists of faculty, staff and students. The Student Government Association represents the student body to the administration, faculty, staff, student organizations and the general college community. It’s composed of 12 students elected by the student body.

Academic dishonesty, including plagiarism and cheating, is unacceptable at LaGuardia . Plagiarism is defined as representing someone else’s work, ideas, or words as your own.

Cheating is any type of misrepresentation in academic work. Academic dishonesty violates everyone and anyone who depends on the integrity of the college, its degrees, certificates and its courses. Therefore the college has the important responsibility of making every effort to cultivate the highest standard of academic integrity and conduct.

As The World’s Community College, LaGuardia is committed to the principles and spirit of affirmative action and equal opportunity.
