The LAGCC Foundation’s Spring Into Action scholarship campaign will raise support to provide scholarships to cover the 2009-2010 academic year tuition costs of in-state students or one semester of tuition for international/out-of-state students.

 

Need

Over two-thirds of LAGCC students come from households making under $25,000, and most require financial assistance even with our tuition being the lowest in the New York area at $3,500 a year. Additionally, international/out-of-state students, whose tuition is double, are not eligible for financial aid so their need is substantially increased. Tuition assistance not only will make attendance possible and much less challenging, but it will have a huge impact on our students’ lives, as data shows that, upon graduation, LAGCC students’ family income increases by 17%.

 

Goal

The Spring Into Action campaign will:

• Raise new scholarship funds during the campaign period, March 1 – May 29.
• Provide numerous, $3,500, named, full scholarships to deserving students with financial need.
• Secure contributions at all levels that will fund, entirely or in part, individual scholarships of $3,500.
• Allow supporters to see how their contributions directly impact the lives of students they are funding.

Recognition

In recognition of your support:

• Gifts of $3,500 or more will provide a Named Scholarship opportunity. These Donors will also be invited to recognition events attended by scholarship recipients.
• All donors will be recognized in Foundation print materials, on the Foundation website and through other vehicles.
• All donors will be invited to participate in Spring Into Action Scholarship Campaign celebrations.
