Meet Our Student Leaders

Pratima Kaur- Class 1

My name is Pratimajit Kaur. I am from India. I go to Sewanhaka High School. This is my second year in the SIELP program. Last year, I was a student in SIELP. This year, I am the leader of Class 1. I really enjoy this program. I got to meet people from different countries and learn about different cultures. I like reading books and comics, watching movies and hanging around with friends. I want to come again next year. SIELP is so much fun. So guys,  have fun and enjoy your summer.

(Eric) Hao Chen- Class 2

 My name is Eric Chen and this is my first summer as a leader in SIELP. I am the leader of class 2, which is the best class. I was also a student in the IELP program. I was born in China and immigrated to USA. I like to listening to music, playing basketball and playing computer games. I am going to be a sophomore in Bayside HS. I was a student in SIELP 2005 and also in the IELP program 2006. I completed both program and both programs are really fun too. I come back to be a leader because in SIELP you could make a lot of friend, learn, and have fun all the time. So I think you should come to this fantastic program.

Igor Dupont- Class 3

Hello, my name is Igor Dupont. I am 15 years old. I go to Queens High School of Teaching. I love to play soccer. This is my second year in SIELP, last year I was a student and I am back as a leader. The reason I came back because I miss the program and its fun because you get to meet new people. I am the leader of class 3. We have free periods like gym and we could go swimming once a week. Going from a student to a leader is great.  It looks good in your application for college. I hope some of you come back next year.

(James) Pengbo Ding- Class 4

How you all doing?  My name is James Ding, I am a sophomore in Cardozo High School, I came from China, this is my second year in SIELP, and I am the leader of class 4.  SIELP is a great place to have fun and learning in the same time, if you bored in the summer, you should come to SIELP.  In SIELP I did my best to help the new students, tell them about High School.  In class we did projects, PowerPoint, writing, and reading.  We made friends share things about ourselves.  SIELP is really fun, that why I choose came back as a leader, and you should come back too.  Maybe you could be a leader just like us.

Estefania Rivas- Class 5

My name is Estefania ,I am 15 years  old , and I am from Colombia ,I am a leader of  class 5 .I am been here in this program for two years . I going to 10^th grade in the high school art and design .I am a leader in this program because I want to help and others like me that need to learn English as a second language.

Justyna Faledysz- Class 6

Hi! My name is Justyna Faledysz, I came from Poland. This is my 2^nd year in SIELP. Last year I was a student myself, and I think that SIELP is a great program. Last summer I learned a lot of things, especially I improved my English skills A LOT, that痴 why I decided to be a leader this year. I知 a leader of class 6 (best class ever!!!). My favorite sport is volleyball, so we play it almost everyday, during Gym class. We have a lot of fun, and I hope everybody enjoy program so far!!!

Mateusz Kaczynski- Computer Lab

Hi!! My name is Mathew. I知 from Poland. First time when I came here I didn稚 know any English and SIELP helped me a lot in improving my English. This is my 2^nd year is SIELP and I really like it. I am a computer lab assistant. I help students in doing research and other computer activates. My favorite sport is soccer. You are able to play soccer in SIELP which I like to do a lot.

Tamin Dhali - Computer Lab

Hi. How are you? My name is Tamim Dhali. I am a high school student. I am from Bangladesh. This is my four year in SIELP. I like SIELP because of the teachers, TAs, leaders, and students. I learned a lot of things from SIELP that helped me in high school. I learned how to speak English in a better way. This year I am a computer leader of SIELP. I like to be computer leader. It is fun to be computer leader. I would like to be in Saturday program. It is much fun in Saturday program than SIELP.

Katherine Garzon - Computer Lab

Hi my name is Katherine Garzon, I am 15 years old. I知 from Colombia and I知 going to be a junior at IHS. This is my third year in SIELP. I really like this program because you get to meet new people and have fun at the students also learn a lot. Being a leader is a lot better than being a student because you could buy your own lunch. This year I知 a gym leader and is very good because you get to meet the students from all the classes. This program is a good way to spend the summer. I hope that some of you come back next year.
