Bangladesh People
 Immigrated To Country
|
Bangladesh is in southern Asia, bordering the Bay of Bengal,
between Burma and India. The capital is Dhaka. The government
is a republic. The official name of Bangladesh is People’s
Republic of Bangladesh. Bangladesh got its independence from
Pakistan in March, 26 1917.The population of Bangladesh is129,
194,224. In Bangladesh the main religions are Muslim and Hindu.
People immigrate from Bangladesh for many reasons. For example,
men are treated as more important than women because their
religion say so. The places where the people are forced to live
in cannot support the heavy rain that comes every year.
For this reason, there is a lot of poverty.
In Bangladesh, women are not treated the same as men. The woman
has to stay, home to prepare the food and take care
of the children and other household matters. The women are not
allowed to go outside by themselves not even to go shopping. The
men do that for them. The men have to work in the fields and
bring the money home .
The men are meant to do work and they women are not. Some
parents think that it’s a waste of time to send their
daughters to school.74% of adult women can neither read nor
write. This places them at a great disadvantage and gives men
more power over them. Also women were not able to vote in
elections until 1996. That was one of the reason the Bangladesh
people immigrate to this country especially women.
Bangladesh lies across the Tropic of Cancer, so it has a
tropical climate. In June and September it rains three times as
much rain fall during this time than any other time. This rain
is brought by winds called monsoons which blow in from the
Indian Ocean.
Sometimes the
monsoons bring too much rain and other too little. When it rains
a lot, the Bangladesh river doesn’t have the capacity to drain
all the water away. The banks burst and cause flood, where the
Bangladesh have been forced to live at. Heavy flooding
turns Bangladesh into an inland sea and life comes to a stand
still .The damage can be enormous. People , animal, homes, and
roads are washed away. That is the other reason why the
Bangladesh people immigrate to this country.
There are some poor people
who can’t afford a lot of food for their children because they
don’t have a real job. They had their jobs for only few days
of the month. Their homes are like shacks and are dirty and
cramped. Disease is common.
Some people are poor
because their life is farming and illnesses spread quickly in
the water used on the farms. Sanitation is poor , so the water
and that is used for washing is full of germs. There is still
not a lot of doctors and hospitals in Bangladesh to make sure
everybody is ok . Since there is not a lot of doctors in
Bangladesh some of the Bengali came to this country because
there are a lot of doctors here to make sure that the people are
ok.
The Hill Tribal people live deep in the forests away from
everyone else. Their survival is being threatened by logging
companies who want to cut down the trees for timber. That is the
Tribal peoples life and home.
When the Bangladesh people came to this country New York, they
were happy because they have freedom that they didn’t have in
their country, especially the woman. Some people still study
their religion at home, but at least they know that there are
freedoms like speech and others that are available . If they
need them all they have to do is grab them and use them.
There are also jobs in New York for men and women. New York
Education is very important because it is the key to your future
a key that should not be lost. In New York men and women are
equal. No one is better than another. Everybody has the
same right to succeed in life. In New York, when it rains the
rain does not destroy the houses and other important
stuff. There’s no farming problem in New York. If you want
vegetables and other foods, you could just go to the Super
Market and buy the food.
