You must be advised before registering. You have an Advising Team, based on your major, to help you map out the best route to graduation, a four-year college or a career.
To schedule an appointment with an advisor from your Advising Team, visit the Student Advising website for info on your advisors, or check your major's Advising Guide.
Before your advisement meeting - Be prepared.
1. Read your team’s Advising Guide learn more about your major.
2. Print your Degree Audit and a list of courses you wish to take for the semester. Bring them to your meeting. - Review your Degree Audit. It is a useful tool to help you determine the right classes to take next semester. Click here for instructions on how to access your Degree Audit. - If you have a negative service indicator (formerly known as a stop), such as "B" from the Bursar's office, please clear all negative service indicators before you register. You can view them under "STOPS" on the first screen of your CUNYfirst account.
3. Write down any questions you may have for your advisor.
If you are unable to meet with your advisor in person, please log in to My LaGuardia, click on “Ask an Advisor” to submit the courses you are interested in taking and any other general questions.
After your advisement meeting1. Please check your CUNYfirst account for your assigned registration appointment date.
2. Register via CUNYfirst. Need help? Visit the Registration Lab in room B218 for assistance.
