>>LIC WORKS Exhibition:: A year in the making, the Long Island City Works student photography exhibition was open through February, 2012. Check out the LIC Works website and video about the project.

>>Sternbach wins grant, photographs in Alaska:: Director of Photography, Scott Sternbach won a PSC CUNY grant to create a photographic and video documentary of the Artic National Wildlife Refuge and a native American village in Alaska. Read more here!

>>Photo Student Featured on Mac-On-Campus:: LaGuardia Community College Photography student, Youngkyu Park, and his portfolio are featured in Mac-On-Campus's April 2011 Student eNewsletter. Check it out!

>>Photography Study Abroad!:: LaGCC Study Abroad Students in 2012 (Fall II, Spring II), have the choice of participating for four weeks, in travel to Santiago and locations in south/central Chile, or to Santiago and then North to the Atacama Desert, respectively. Some presentations will be given by Univeridad del Norte, and the "desert" group will be working with the Museo Archeologico R.F Le Paige. Visit the Chile Study Abroad website for more details.

>>Photography Students Uncover Depression-era Artwork:: The Greater Astoria Historical Society and a select group of LaGuardia Community College commercial photography students take on a very important assignment: Photograph Depression-era works of art that are scattered throughout Queens. Now on exhibit at both locations. Read the story here.

>>"Faces of LaGuardia" becomes a traveling exhibit - currently on view at Queens Borough Hall, and recently at Queens' Center Mall (Sept 8 - Oct 5, 2010), including Artist Talks and the Photo Club's "Photo Booth" pop-up studio.

>>Scott Sternbach exhibits at the American Museum of Natural History:: May 29, 2010 until January 2011, in the “Race to the End of the Earth” exhibition.

>>Grand opening of the LaGuardia Gallery for Photographic Arts:: located on the 3rd floor of the "B" Building, March, 2009

With an ever-increasing enrollment, the Photography program was bursting at the seems in its previous facility. In August of 2009, the move to LaGuardia's "B" building was complete, and the program could enjoy 3 new shooting studios, classroom, digital lab, convertible black & white and color darkroom. With the facilities' larger, modern capabilities, students have enjoyed the benefits of a department that believes in maintaining both traditional and cutting-egde technologies.
