The Program for Deaf Adults (PDA) is the largest, most comprehensive post-secondary program for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students in the New York area. Students pursuing an Associate’s Degree are supported by academic, personal and job development counseling, registration assistance, classroom interpreters, tutors, note takers, testing accommodation, and special sections of Basic Skills Reading and Writing taught in American Sign Language (ASL). Courses offered under Continuing Education, also taught in ASL, include GED, Adult Basic Education, Driver’s Education for Deaf adults, American Sign Language, and more.

PDA's ASL-English Interpretation Program (AEIP) provides educational opportunities for individuals interested in a rigorous academic program that will prepare them to become ASL- English Interpreters (Bachelors degree and Professional Certificate). With U.S. Department of Education scholarship funding, AEIP has a focus on interpreting in educational settings.

    Program (AEIP)

  • AEIP is a rigorous academic program that prepares selected individuals who are fluent in ASL to become ASL-English interpreters, with a special focus on interpreting in educational settings. Bachelors Degree (in collaboration with SUNY/Empire State College) and Professional Certificate tracks are offered. US.
