A Foundation for a Career in Music Production and Audio Engineering
IAR’s 900-hour Audio Recording and Production program provides hands-on
experience and technical knowledge for a broad career foundation. This
means not just working with digital audio software, but also with analog
and digital hardware components to “get behind” the technology. Students
learn ear training and acoustics, the music business, in depth mixing,
MIDI, microphones, amplifiers, speakers and cables. This all culminates
with advanced mixing, audio post-production, and working with a live
band in IAR’s recording studio. IAR instructors know that music is a
business. Whether networking with industry professionals and other
students, or dealing with writers, producers, and managers, our students
receive unmatched insight into the music business and learn how to adapt
to changing technologies and conditions.
An Extraordinary Faculty and Outstanding Reputation
With an extraordinary roster of faculty and almost four decades of experience, IAR has earned an outstanding reputation among leading employers in the music business. Upon nearing graduation, students meet with our Career Services team, build their resumes, and set-up a strategy for finding entry-level employment in a wide range of audio fields, including:
· recording studios, large format facilities and project studios
· live sound reinforcement
· audio for film, video, radio, and television
· location sound, corporate and event audio
