Now you can earn an Associates Degree in Music
Recording Technology thanks to a joint program
provided by LaGuardia Community College and the
Institute of Audio Research, located in
Greenwich Village. Students in the MRT program
spend one year at LaGuardia, taking courses that
complement their IAR technical education, and
one year at IAR, where they earn a Diploma in
Audio Recording and Music Production.
At LaGuardia, learn the principles of Music
Theory, study music industry essentials and
small business operation, and hone your skills
in mathematics, critical thinking, and writing.
At
IAR, learn recording, mixing, digital music
production, audio post-production, MIDI,
recording studio essentials and much more from
an experienced faculty active in the New York
music scene. You will get the technical
background and plenty of hands-on experience,
and the curriculum includes developing an “audio
portfolio” graduates use to further their
careers.
Graduates of the MRT program receive the full
career placement support of both LaGuardia and
IAR. Federal financial aid is available at both
schools for those who qualify.
