Healthcare

Job growth in the healthcare sector is booming and LaGuardia has 12 of the premier Allied Health programs in New York. Our students pass statewide licensing exams at one of the highest rates in the state and often receive multiple employment and transfer offers upon graduation.

Important: The following 6 programs have limited student capacity. If you’re thinking of applying for one of them, please click here for the additional admission criteria:

* Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic
* Nursing
* Occupational Therapy Assistant
* Physical Therapist Assistant
* Practical Nursing
* Veterinary Technology

Transfer

Many healthcare jobs require, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree. LaGuardia graduates who have planned their program carefully can often transfer to a 4-year college as juniors.

Colleges that you’re considering for transfer may have different requirements, so you should meet regularly with a LaGuardia academic advisor and Transfer Services, starting as early as possible.

Careers

14 of New York City’s most popular healthcare careers are listed here. We encourage you to research the wide spectrum of jobs in this industry by using the library, Internet and other resources.
