The LaGuardia Library Research Toolbar serves as a bridge between general Web searching and the Library's various resources. The LaGuardia Library Research Toolbar will help you connect books you find online, through sites like Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, and AbeBooks, to LaGuardia's and CUNY's holdings.
Installing the Research Toolbar
The Research Toolbar is designed to work with the Firefox Web browser. Firefox is an alternative to Internet Explorer. To download Firefox for free, click here and follow the installation instructions (Firefox also offers limited support via chat).
1. Once you have installed Firefox, launch it and copy this address: http://libx.org/editions/download.php?edition=D21B1B9A into Firefox's address bar (see below).
2. Click the top link that says "Click here to install LibX CUNY LaGuardia Community College Toolbar Version 1.2.2"
3. Firefox will give you a message at the top of the page, that a site is asking to install software on your computer. That's normal. Click the Edit Options button.

4. You should get a pop-up window with libx.org written in. Click the Allow button and then the Close button.

5. Click the "Click here to install LibX CUNY LaGuardia Community College Toolbar Version 1.2.2" link again. This time you'll get a different pop-up box
6. Click the "Install Now" button.

7. You'll get yet another pop-up window, installing the toolbar. Then, you should see a notification to restart Firefox to complete the installation. Click the Restart Firefox button and let Firefox restart.

8. Firefox will open up again on its own with the toolbar installed.

9. You are now ready to learn to use the toolbar.
