    Website of the long-established firm that publishes annual guides to 2-year and 4-year colleges. Includes information, some free and some fee-based, on college search, information on financial aid, test preparation, study abroad and distance learning programs.

Human Services Associations
    American Public Human Services Association - www.aphsa.org
    APHSA is a "nonprofit, bipartisan organization of individuals and agencies concerned with human services," whose mission is "to develop, promote, and implement public human service policies and practices that improve the health and well-being of families, children, and adults." APHSA "educates members of Congress, the media, and the broader public on what is happening in the states around welfare, child welfare, health care reform, and other issues involving families and the elderly."

    CSWF is a "confederation of 31 state societies for clinical social work." These societies are "voluntary associations for the purpose of promoting the highest standards of professional education and clinical practice" and using "legislative advocacy and lobbying efforts for adequate and appropriate mental health services and coverage . . . Beyond supporting the state societies' aims, the Board of the CSWF seeks to keep clinical social work visible and understood, to generate clinical research, and to provide professional training and publications on the national level."

    Bilingual site of professional association founded in 1982 to provide seminars and training, information about the field, a newsletter, and networking opportunities. Includes useful list of "Related Links".

    NASW is "the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world." It "works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies."

    HSCN is a "career site devoted solely to Human Service, Social Service, and Non-Profit professionals." In addition to providing posting space for employers and job seekers (free for the latter), the site offers articles, a national conference calendar and catalogs of relevant products and services.
