Renewals

The Circulation Department is pleased to announce two improvements in service:

1.  Renewal by E-mail:
To request renewal of LaGuardia books, send an e-mail message to:

sofiali@lagcc.cuny.edu

or use this online form.

Include in the message:

    A)  Your name

    B)  Barcode number in the ID card used to borrow those books. This number has 14 digits beginning with the prefix 2 3324. If you used a CUNYCard, the barcode is on the bottom right of the card, preceded by the word "Library." If you used a Continuing Ed card, the number would be on the back.

    C)  Barcode(s) of the book(s) you wish to renew, which begin with the prefix 3 3324. These barcodes are located on the inside back covers of books from the LaGuardia Stacks, and on the pocket inside the front cover of those books from the LaGuardia Browsing Collection.

Confirmation or denial and new dates will be sent to your e-mail address within three business days.

All other renewal policies remain in effect:

    A)  Books must belong to the LaGuardia Library.
    B)  Books can be renewed only once.
    C)  Books on hold for other patrons cannot be renewed.

2.  Renewal Without Bringing the Book(s) to the Library:
It is no longer necessary to bring to the Library any book(s) you want to renew. To renew, bring to the Circulation Desk your ID and the barcode numbers(s) of the books(s). These numbers have 14 digits beginning with 3 3324, and are located inside the back cover or on a pocket inside the front cover of the book. The Circulation staff will renew the books, within the following limits:
    A)  Books must belong to the LaGuardia Library.
    B)  Books can be renewed only once.
    C)  Books on hold for other patrons cannot be renewed.

If you have any questions, please call the Library Circulation Desk at (718) 482-5426.
