and take a virtual tour of our facilities and services. Do you need to know when the
Library is open? Simply click on Library Hours. Do you need to reach a library faculty
member? Click on Library Faculty and Staff, and you will find their room number, telephone
extension, and e-mail address. The home page gives you information about the Library in
general, Library policies, Library units and services, electronic resources, CUNY resources,
and other links. If you need to find out whether the LaGuardia Library subscribes to a
certain periodical, click on Periodicals, and you will find an alphabetical list of our
periodical holdings. The LaGuardia Library receives an enormous number of extremely useful
government documents and with the online version of the monthly catalog, MOCAT, you can find
out whether we receive a particular document or not, by entering on the appropriate prompt,
the school's zip code 11101. This can be done by clicking on government publications.
The LaGuardia Library home page not only offers information about its own service but also
gives access to an array of external sites, such as the CUNY Libraries home page (simply
click on CUNY Libraries) through which you can access a variety of full-text databases
including Lexis/Nexis

Universe, Info Trac (Academic/Business and Health), and the Encyclopedia Britannica, from
a college IP address. If you would like to access these subscription services from remote
logons, register online through the CUNY Libraries home page. You can also access these
resources from our home page under the heading Electronic Resources. The CUNY Libraries
home page will also connect you with the official site of New York City, New York City
libraries, major newspapers, reference books, electronic journals, etc... The amount of
information you can link to from the LaGuardia Library's home page is endless. Do visit

The LaGuardia Library offers electronic resources to its users, as most libraries do these
days, in order to fulfill its job of making all forms of information readily available.
Electronic sources certainly widen the possibilities for research well beyond the physical
holdings of the LaGuardia Library collections. They can in most cases offer the advantages
of full text, reproducible, downloadable and e-mailable resources. Knowledge of these
databases will give our students information skills to carry them where ever their futures
take them.
