LIBRARY WELCOMES NEW STAFF MEMBERS The Library welcomes two new members to its staff. Professor Christine Stenstrom and Mr. Louis Chung.Prof. Stenstrom is our new Collection Development librarian. As her title suggests, Christine will be responsible for developing and managing our book and electronic information resources. Christine comes to us from the Brooklyn Public Library where she was a Branch Librarian. She also possesses extensive experience in the academic arena. Christine received her Master of Library Science from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Mr. Louis Chung is our new College Laboratory Technician. He will be working with Prof. Michael Johnson in the Library systems department to help maintain our electronic information resources. Louis is knowledgeable in computer networks and troubleshooting and holds a BS in Computer Science from St. Johns University. |
ITS A GIRL! Maritza Acero of our Periodicals unit gave birth on Tuesday March 10th, to a 7 lb. 8 oz. baby girl. We wish mother and her baby lots of health and happiness.
AND THE WINNER IS! Gus Weinstein, son of Marvin who works in our Circulation unit, recently took home first prize in JEP, the childrens version of the popular gameshow, Jeopardy. Gus, age 11, blew away the competition with a total of 16,800 points. The second place finisher had a measly 9,000 points. For his efforts, Gus took won a 20 inch Sony television, a VCR and a Sony Play-Station. The champ and his family were interviewed by CNN which aired on January 27th. Congratulations to Gus and his proud family! |
