Acquisitions are now fully online at LaGuardia's Library Media Resources Center. This automated system allows the user to see in CUNY+, our online catalog, whether a book is on order. The same procedure holds true for the textbooks on reserve. If you are unsure whether a copy of your textbook is held by the Library, do a title search and you will hopefully find that we either already own the book or that we placed an order for it. With online ordering, a new set of messages crop up in the online catalog. I would like to take a minute to explain what some of these cryptic messages might mean to you, the user. The following message simply indicates that the title in question is on order but has not yet been received by the Library.
The next two messages indicate that the book has been received by the Library but is not yet on the shelf. However, at this stage you can request this book by filling out a card at the Reference Desk. We will have the book on hold for you at the Circulation Desk by the next business day.
I hope this information, enables you to navigate our online catalog more easily and gives you earlier access to titles. |
