LIBRARY WINS GRANT

The LaGuardia Library is a proud recipient of a $15,000
Electronic Doorway Library (EDL) Services Demonstration Grant from the New York State
Library's Division of Library Development. The grant was awarded for the Library's
proposal entitled: "Bibliographic Instruction Satellites: A Demonstration
Project in High School/College Library Cooperation."
The award will enable the LaGuardia Library to take its first "giant" step
toward extending its Information Literacy program to LaGuardia's three New York City Board
of Education affiliated High Schools (The Middle College High School, The International
High School and the Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Institute of Arts and Technology).
The expectation is to establish the infrastructure, create bibliographic instruction
facilities on-site at each school and train the faculty in the use of the facility to
enhance the teaching/learning process.
