In response to the tragic events of September 11, the Library launches a new website of research and instructional resources to assist the campus community. It can be accessed through the Library's homepage, www.lagcc.cuny.edu/library.
The site, designed by CUNY Administrative Assistant Kaywan Chan, consists of four main themes: Attack, Background, Repercussions and Rebuilding. Each is defined by subheadings, which contain lists of books and journals with LaGuardia's Library, as well as annotated websites and recommended keywords for database searching. As an ongoing work-in-progress, proposed sections under construction include, Economic Implications, Health and Safety issues and Government and Military Response. Attack and Rebuilding are also in development, but we wanted to offer finished sections sooner for faculty use. The website marks a collaboration between the Library and LaGuardia's Center for Learning and Teaching. Library working group faculty include Jane Devine, Louise Fluk, Clementine Lewis, Carol Probeyahn, Kenneth Schlesinger and Marie Spina, while Roslyn Orgel of ACE contributed a selection of teaching and learning resources. We invite your response to our efforts, and welcome related submissions to enhance the site. |
Listed below are college departments and programs and the Library Liaisons assigned to serve them as contact or resource persons in the Library. This program is important for faculty and their departments, giving them a Library representative whim they can contact to answer questions, gather or order supporting curriculum materials or help with constructing research assignments.
Faculty Telephone numbers are located on Page 4. |
