Professor Ken Peeples has recently been ill, but is recovering nicely and expects to be back in the library in May. We wish him a speedy get well.


Professor Kenneth Schlesinger attended the Consortium of College and University Media Centers Annual Conference in New Orleans, supported by an EDIT grant. In addition, he served on CUNY's Copyright Task Force for Libraries, as well as the President's Task Force on Cooperative Education at LaGuardia.


Professor Qianli Hu, an adjunct librarian, has been included in the 2002 edition of Who's Who in America.


Marie Spina attented the Symposium of Greater NY Metropolitan Area Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) on "Learning Outcomes Assessment: A Step Forward" in December. She is also a member of a CUNY task force developing an information competency tutorial, which is now available under the "CUNY Resources" link on the Library homepage.

Professor Louise Fluk contributed a review of Books, Bytes and Bridges: Libraries and Computer Centers in Academic Institutions (Larry Hardesty, ed.) to Urban Library Journal 11.1 (2001): 57-59.


Maritza Acero and Evelyn Nalbandian, CUNY Office Assistants represented at the library at the annual Library's Assistants' Day held by the Metropolitan Library Council on April 18, 2002. The conference was held at the American Museum of Natural History.


Marie Spina, Scott White and Marty Zimerman conducted a workshop in support of the College's common reading, Having Our Say, for the Spring Opening Sessions for Students.


Professor Clementine Lewis is Co-Chair of the Interlibrary Loan Roundtable for the Library Association of the City University of New York (LACUNY) for 2001/2002.
Carol Probeyahn attended 2 conferences, "Privacy in Cyberspace: New Challanges for Higher Education" on March 18 at Rutgers University, and "Licensing and Managing Electronic Resources" on April 5 at the NY Institute of Technology.
