Professor Jane Devine attended the College's Visioning Summit, April 25-27, 2001.


Professor Francine Egger-Sider was awarded a sabbatical for academic year 2001-2002. She will be studying how libraries support distance education.


Professor Clementine Lewis updated and edited the third edition of LaGuardia Faculty Publications during the Fall I 2000 session.


Senior CLT Terry Parker videotaped the College's Visioning Summit at the National Tennis Center from April 25-27, 2001.

On May 6, 2001, Terry completed the 42 mile, 5 borough "Bike New York" Tour.

Professor Ken Peeples' article "Selected List of Black Book Publishers," was published in the Handbook of Black Librarianship, edited by E.J. Josey and Marva L. DeLoach. Scarecrow Press, 2000.

Professor Peeples also attended the Metro workshop, "Digital Reference Desk Cooperative," on April 17, 2001.


Professor Kenneth Schlesinger was recently elected to the executive board of the Theatre Library Association, as well as appointed Vice-President of the Council of Educational Communications and Technology (CECT/CUNY).

Professor Schlesinger's article, "Lucky Thirteen: Building WNET's Tape Archive," appeared in AMIA Newsletter, Fall 2000, and an edited version was printed in Metropolitan Archivist January 2001.
Marie Spina attended Technical Services Committee meetings and Archival planning sessions at the Mid-Winter meeting of the American Library Association (ALA) in Washington, D.C., January 13-15, 2001.

Ms. Spina is working on a program entitled “For Whom the Bills Toll: How Much Paper Does It Take to Track Electronic Resources?”, to be presented in July at the annual ALA conference in San Francisco.


Scott White was accepted into the Fall 2001 class of the Criminal Justice Doctoral Program at the Graduate Center.
