Final Project 25%

Weekly writing assignments are for your literary pleasure with a focus on incorporating smaller works into a larger, more complex paper. We will be reading and discussing all responses in class with everyone participating. For example if we visit the New York Chinese Community and the Tenement Museum, you will create an organizational relationship to incorporate these ideas/ real experiences into a cohesive clear document reflecting the multidimensional experience of the urban studies course. These assignments are designed for you as an urban observer in order to expose your voice as an urban scientist and to foster clarity of vision. This vision is yours and yours alone. All of your ideas and interpretations are completely owned by you. You will have the choice of what to focus on in your experience. Utilizing the vocabulary and key terms from the text will help you interpret your urban experience into a written entity. This is an environment of learning and expression. Enjoy it.

Essay style writing will be necessary and it will count for 20% of your grade on all assignments. Rewrites are always possible in conjunction with peer and instructor review. We will be learning to live and living to learn. Good Luck!
