Summer Internship Program. The summer Internship Program was an eclectic program designed to provide students with a combination of academic classes (including SAT preparation), work experience, reflections on the work experience counseling and trips.  High school faculty taught classes in Mathematics and English Language Arts (combined with computer technology) two days per week.  Students report to their internship sites another two days per week, and one day a week was devoted to trips, both educational and entertaining.  This four-week program also include electives such as a book club, swimming, dance, and chess.

New York State GEAR UP Summer Residential Program. LaGuardia Community College/QUP GEAR UP participates in New York State GEAR UP's program for high school students to experience college life during a summer residential stay at six (6) colleges around the state.  Students stayed in college dormitories and participated workshops and projects (e.g., essay writing, Internet college searches), attended "simulated college classes," and engaged in some recreational and social activities.
