College Coach Program

 Students will work together with faculty serving as College Coaches during the Fall and Spring semesters to explore the college process, identify the critical issues of choosing a college, and analyze students' needs.  

Students will also learn the difference between a college and a high school, myths about colleges and have the opportunity to visit colleges.

College Coaches Visits. Parents are invited to accompany students on the College Coach visits.  In addition, GEAR UP provides a series of College Information Saturdays to parents.  Using the Internet as a research tool, the Director of LaGuardia's College Prep program provides parents with strategies for researching college choice, financial aid, and what is affordable.
