LaGuardia Community College President Dr. Gail O. Mellow joins in “Is the Business Model of Higher Education Broken?” Debate
PBS Saturday, June 19th at 1 p.m.

A necessary and timely national discussion about the future of higher education has emerged. As a nationally recognized expert on community college education, LaGuardia Community College President Dr. Gail O. Mellow is often asked to offer her thoughtful and unique perspective on this issue. Most recently, Dr. Mellow participated in a national debate examining whether the “business model” of higher education is broken.

Debaters President Mellow and William Kirwan, chancellor of the University System of Maryland argued the pro side, and Richard Levin, president of Yale University and Daniel Hamburger, president and CEO of DeVry Inc. argued con. Ray Suarez, senior correspondent for PBS NewsHour, moderated the debate.
