Magdalena Bogacka is an Adjunct and is currently working on her Ph.D. in American Literature, specifically early twentieth-century, at the CUNY Graduate Center. She earned her B.A. in English and Secondary Education in Queens College, CUNY, where she graduated with honors. Her literary interests include writers of the Lost Generation, women's documentary writing, gender theory and masculinity studies. She is currently preparing to present some of her work on war writing by Martha Gelllhorn, and the photography and writing of Eudora Welty at the Northeastern Modern Language Association Conference and the Humanities Conference in Spain, which will in the future be developed into a publication on women's documentaries. Some of the writers and poets she likes to teach and read are: Ernest Hemingway, Zora Neale Hurston, Flannery O'Connor, Toni Morrison, Zadie Smith, Edna St. Vincent Millay, and William Shakespeare.
