I did my Bachelor’s degree in writing at Queens College, followed by a Master’s and Doctorate in English Literature at New York University. I’ve taught literature and writing at Brooklyn College, York College, City Tech, New York University, and the College of New Rochelle. In my own research, I study “texts” (both literary and audio-visual) for signs of unconscious hopes and fears which are shaped by social narratives, and which are both concealed and revealed through the logic of dreams. I’m currently writing a book about shame and the development of identity in 20th century U.S. literature. I also enjoy writing and reading about popular cultural “texts” such as video games and movies.
