J. Elizabeth Clark teaches a range of courses in the Department of English including: ENG 099, ENG 101, the "Fighting for Our Rights" Liberal Arts Cluster, Creative Writing, Introduction to Poetry, and LIB 200: Cultural Studies of Medicine. Many of her courses focus on the political nature of art and writing in the democratic tradition. She currently serves as one of the Directors of Composition for the Department of English with responsibility for English 101. She is active in the ePortfolio and Capstone projects at the college, regularly leading faculty professional development seminars through the Center for Teaching & Learning.
Outside of LaGuardia, Dr. Clark is a published poet and writer. Her poetry appears in journals such as: the Paterson Literary Review, the Santa Clara Review, the Comstock Review, Ars Medica, and WOMB.
Her scholarly work in the areas of medical humanities, pedagogy, ePortfolio and digital rhetoric has appeared in journals such as: Journal of Medical Humanities, The Minnesota Review, Radical Teacher, Journal of Basic Writing, and AAC&U's Peer Review.
Outside of LaGuardia, Dr. Clark regularly presents on ePortfolio and digital rhetoric. She serves on the editorial boards of College Composition & Communication (2010-2013) and Radical Teacher (1998-present).
