About the Weekend Language Program
The Weekend Language Program is tailored for busy individuals who would benefit from studying a language but cannot accommodate it during the week. The course is taught in a combination of in-class lessons (on Saturday) and online exercises. If you are looking for weekday classes, go to Modern Languages and Literatures Program website. The Weekend Language Program offers introductory level courses on Saturdays (from 10:30am to 2:00pm) in the following languages:
- Introductory Arabic
- Introductory Chinese (Mandarin)
- Introductory French
- Introductory Italian
- Introductory Japanese
- Introductory Korean
- Introductory Portuguese
- Portuguese for Spanish Speakers
- American Sign Language
- Introductory Spanish
- Spanish for Heritage Speakers
- Polish Literature
- Spanish Literature
The walk-in tutoring is available at Room B-206 on Saturdays. The walk-in tutoring is also offered during weekdays. Please ask your instructor the schedule & availability of walk-in tutoring. The schedule for walk-in & online tutoring is also available at this page.
Course schedule
Most of our courses are scheduled in the morning (10:30am - 2:00pm). A few courses are scheduled in the afternoon (2:30pm - 6:00pm). For the latest information on the course offering, pleaase visit http://bit.ly/course_schedule

Online lab
All elementary and intermediate-level weekend language courses are paired with one-hour online lab. We are using the following online lab platforms:
- Arabic (you need to buy subscription with a class code that your instructor will give you in the first class)

If you register for class through ACE and your class uses Blackboard (most WLP courses do not), you should follow these instructions to gain access to Blackboard.
How to register for weekend language courses
- If you are a LaGuardia student (matriculated student in a degree program)
- You can register for the weekend courses in a regular registration procedure (using eSIM or at the registarar office). The SIM numbers for the weekend language courses can be found on the course schedule page.
- You should take the course as a credit-bearing course (3 credits)
- If you want to take a higher-level course (e.g., 102, 105-level courses) without taking required courses (e.g., 101 level), you should take a placement exam before the registration). The placement exam is scheduled almost every week. Visit the placement exam page or contact Jennie Rosado (718) 482-5460 for details.

- If you are not a LaGuardia student
- You can register for the course through Adult and Continuing Education department (not through the Registrar office).
- To register, you need to call or e-mail ACE Enrollment Coordinators. See the contact page for their contact information.
- If you want to take a higher-level course (e.g., 102, 105-level courses) without taking required courses (e.g., 101 level), you should take a placement exam before the registration). The placement exam is scheduled almost every week. Please contact Jennie Rosado (718) 482-5460 for details.
