Laurie GluckLaurie Gluck began her career at LaGuardia in 1986 as an Adjunct Lecturer at The English Language Center. In 2004 she joined the Academic ESL Program as a full-time Lecturer. She completed undergraduate work at Ryerson University in Toronto and received teacher certification at Laval University in Quebec City. She has a master’s degree in TESOL from Hunter College of CUNY, and is now a doctoral student in linguistics at the CUNY Graduate Center. In addition to ESL teaching, she has trained prospective ESL professionals in the New School University Certificate Program. Her teaching spans all levels and skills in ESL, with a particular interest in intermediate-level writing and developing writing skills through enhancement of listening skills. She has led curriculum initiatives to enhance and modify the teaching of listening in ESL 097. She has been active in the Education Program, co-writing the course proposal for Language and Literacy in Early Childhood Education. She has participated in the New Faculty Colloquium and the Carnegie Seminar on Inquiry, Scholarship, and the Learning Portfolio.
