jarek michalonekJarek Michalonek holds an MA in American studies from the CUNY Graduate Center and an MA in Applied Linguistics/TESOL from Columbia University. He is currently a PhD candidate in English at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a leader in the Writing in the Disciplines (WID) seminar. Although he has taught all levels offered in the Academic ESL Program, including paired courses, he has a special interest in teaching Basic Writing I for Non-Native Speakers (ESA099), which he helped to develop. His academic interests include ethnographic writing research, discourse analysis, second-language writing and literacy, Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC), and teacher training. His other interests involve translation and music journalism.
