Job Positions Available at the Center for Teaching and Learning

The LaGuardia Center for Teaching & Learning has launched a search for skilled, accomplished high energy professionals to help advance its work at LaGuardia Community College and beyond. The success of LaGuardia’s professional development and educational change efforts, particularly its ePortfolio project, has opened new opportunities. Three positions are now available:

ePortfolio Project Director: LaGuardia seeks an experienced Project Director for this major educational change initiative, linking pedagogy, technology, and assessment. The ePortfolio Project Director will supervise 11 staff serving 6000 students and 150 faculty engaged in nationally recognized electronic portfolio project. Duties include: overseeing large and growing project, facilitating faculty seminars, supervising classroom tutorials, analyzing data, presenting project in reports, conferences and publications. Min. Project RISE Program Associate: LaGuardia seeks an energetic educator to coordinate broad professional development program focused on strengthening teaching and learning for upper level students in an urban community college setting. Funded with a five-year $2.75 grant, Project Rise links integrative learning pedagogy with ePortfolio and holistic assessment. Duties include: work in collaborative faculty-staff team to design and lead faculty seminars and workshops; advance the work of curriculum development and integration; support data collection, analysis and reporting; assist in the implementation of new processes for the assessment of student learning. Making Connections Project Director: LaGuardia seeks an accomplished program developer and communicator to launch a new program supporting the collaborative dissemination of LaGuardia’s innovative and effective teaching practices to other higher education institutions. Funded with a three year, $620,000 FIPSE grant, the Making Connections project will help higher education faculty and their institutions develop effective strategies for using ePortfolio to enhance learning, teaching, assessment and transfer. Making Connections will be the first initiative of a new national center, based at LaGuardia, designed to foster inquiry, reflection, and integrative learning in higher education. The three positions are distinct, as detailed in the specific job descriptions. All three combine pedagogy, technology, communication and program administration. All three are grounded in the culture of LaGuardia and NYC urban public higher education: rich in diversity and opportunity, fast-moving, highly challenging. All three positions are open until filled.
