Dear LaGuardia Community,
Today, we honor the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As a Baptist minister and social activist, Dr. King led the U.S. civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others” Each year, people answer this question by coming together to serve their neighbors and communities – a fitting way to honor the memory of Dr. King.
On this day, as we reflect upon Dr King’s work, we should pause to consider how we serve others. At LaGuardia there are opportunities to get involved in community service through student clubs and campus organizations.
