    "Criminal justice is the study of practices and institutions directed at upholding social control, deterring and mitigating crime, and sanctioning those who violate laws with criminal penalties and rehabilitation efforts. The four components of the criminal justice system are corrections, police, courts, and juvenile justice.

    LaGuardia's new Criminal Justice program will prepare you for many different careers in the exciting field of criminal justice. This dual-admission program is part of the CUNY Justice Academy linking two- and four-year colleges that provide academic pathways from associate degree study to the completion of a bachelors degree at John Jay.
