Certificate Program in Computerized Bookkeeping for QuickBooks

Entering the field of accounting or looking to manage bookkeeping for your small business? Discover how to unleash the power of QuickBooks while mastering basic accounting concepts. Get hands-on practice by creating and working with fictional companies. Bilingual instructor (Spanish/English). Receive 63 hours of practical instruction: Part 1 (27 hrs), Part 2 (18 hrs), and Part 3 (18 hrs).

College Certificate in Accounting

Step up your accounting credentials or get started in a new career with LaGuardia Community College’s new Certificate in Accounting! This 3-course series will give you the edge you need to get ahead in the accounting profession. In order to qualify for this program, you must have a bachelor’s or associate’s degree, or be exempt from the CUNY ACT tests. Experience in accounting may qualify as an exemption.

Non-Certificate Business Courses

 Certificate Program in Advanced Quickbooks

Take your QuickBooks knowledge to the next level by earning additional certificates in advanced topics. The following course is open to graduates of the Computerized Bookkeeping for QuickBooks Certificate Program or students with equivalent experience. Become a payroll professional or update your skills by earning a Certificate in Payroll with QuickBooks. Learn the basic procedures, calculations and terminology needed to process payroll for a small business through practical computer exercises. Prerequisite: Computerized Bookkeeping for QuickBooks Certificate Program or screening test.

 Tax Return Preparer Certificate Program

Earn extra money by becoming a registered tax preparer or learn to prepare taxes for your own personal use. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to complete basic individual NY state and federal forms. Designed for Students new to tax preparation.

IRS Enrolled Agent Program

An Enrolled Agent represents taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).  Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential awarded by IRS, and you must either pass the three-part IRS Special Enrollment Examination (SEE) as well as a background check, or have experience as an IRS employee.  Once you become and Enrolled Agent, you have unlimited practice rights and are unrestricted in which taxpayers you can represent, what type of tax matters you can handle, and which IRS offices you can represent clients before.
