Fall 2008 Tuition Payment Update
August 1, 2008
Dear LaGuardia Student:
The City University of New York has changed the procedure for students who use a credit card to pay tuition and fees.
Effective August 14, 2008:
- Visa credit cards will not be accepted for tuition and fee payments. MasterCard, Discover and American Express will be the only credit cards accepted by CUNY.
- Credit card payments will only be accepted online via your E-SIMS account.
- Credit cards will no longer be accepted at the Bursar window, “drop box”, by fax or by mail.
Please note, when paying by credit card, a non-refundable convenience fee of 2.65% will be charged to your account in addition to your tuition and fees. This is the equivalent of a fee of $41.63 if you are charging full time tuition and fees of $1,570.85.
This policy is similar to that of many colleges and universities that accept credit cards for tuition payments.
As an alternate method of payment, “E-Check” is now available online. This option will charge your checking/savings account immediately. There will be no fee charged to students who make a payment using “E-Check”.
For more information regarding the changes in the credit card policy, payment options, payment due dates, etc, please visit the Bursar's website, www.laguardia.edu/bursar or contact the office by email at bursar@lagcc.cuny.edu
Sincerely,
Al Fingerhut, Bursar
