The LaGuardia Community College Foundation is scheduled to conduct its first official Phone-a-thon. On Saturday, October 23 from noon to 3 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 26 and Thursday, October 28 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., volunteers from every sector of the LaGuardia community will be getting on the phones at the Call Center in Room C917 to connect with LaGuardia alumni. We’ll be reaching out to learn what alums have been up to since they graduated, to share important developments at the College and to ask for pledges of financial support to the Foundation. Funds raised as a result of the Phone-a-thon will provide scholarships, textbooks and other essential resources to current LaGuardia students in need.

The impact of these calls will be significantly increased if they are made by fellow alumni/a, who also have a LaGuardia experience to share as part of the conversation. Volunteering for this event is a great way to show your LaGuardia spirit and to support the Foundation with a gift of your time. If you can join us, please contact alumni@lagcc.cuny.edu with your name, phone number and the time that you’re available, or call Elyse Newman at 718-482-5054 to sign up to be an alumni Phone-a-thon volunteer.

“When I came to LaGuardia I was exposed to a different world. And this is part of the reason I want to be a high school teacher. I want to influence these young kids, and grab their attention, not just about physics, but I want to help them identify the bigger picture.”
