MAJOR: HUMAN SERVICES

The Fieldwork Placement experience is the central part of the Clinical Phase.  Students need to maintain a GPA of 2.0 to enter and remain in the Clinical Phase.

Students with a GPA below 2.0 while in the Clinical Phase cannot continue in the program until their GPA has improved or are given specific permission by the Program Director of Human Services.

Two advanced classes connected to the Internship Seminars: 

  • HSC 135-Human Services Roles and Systems.

This course’s pre-requisites are: HSC 101, HSC 102, the co-requisite is HSC 203

  • HSC 130-Activities for Human Services.
This course’s pre-requisites are MAT 095, HSC 102 and SSY 101, the co–requisite is HSM 204.

HSC 130 is the Human Services Capstone class and synthesizes material learned throughout the program.

Fieldwork Placement is offered during the 12-week Fall I and Spring I semesters.  Students are required to complete a minimum of 125 hours per semester in their Fieldwork Placement.

Students need to begin the Fieldwork Placement process the second week of April prior to the Fall I semester or the second week in November prior to the Spring 1 semester.

Two Fieldwork Placement experiences need to total a minimum of 250 hours.
