1st Step: Find Your Category & Read The FAQ
Candidates for admission fall into at least one
of three categories:
- First Time College Students
- Transfer Students
- International Students
We've developed an FAQ (Frequently Asked
Questions) for each group of students to help
guide you through our admission process.
Which categories do I belong to?
- If you've never attended college before, you
are a first time college student.
Note: if
you earned college credits in high school, you
are still a first time college student.
- If you have attended another college before
and have credits to transfer to LaGuardia, you
are a transfer student.
- If you hold or will need a temporary student
visa while enrolled at the college, you are an
international student. Immigrants (permanent
U.S. residents), citizens, refugees, and
resident aliens are not international students.
International students will also be either first
time or transfer students.
Now that you know your category/categories,
please click on the appropriate one(s) on the
left so you can continue to your FAQ information
sheet.
What if I was admitted to
LaGuardia in a prior year ? Welcome back! If you did not attend the college
or receive any course grades, well need to
reactivate you application. If you received at least one
course grade, please visit the
Registrar.
