| This course deals with an in-depth study of the peoples and cultural institutions of Latin America through the examination of selected topics such as caudillismo, machismo, mestizaje, honor, slavery and aboriginal traditions as reflected in different forms of literary and artistic expression. Students will learn to comment critically on Latin American civilization and to make significant
comparisons with their own backgrounds and experiences. Prerequisite: Placement Exam.
