Academic Opportunities & Resources
We encourage students to take
advantage of the many resources of
the college. First year students
participate in our award-winning
First Year Experience, which is
specifically designed to give new
college students the support they
need to succeed. Learning
Communities help many students learn
their course subject matter more
effectively and as a result, they
usually perform better.
E-portfolio, a multimedia
presentation of a students work,
helps students examine and reflect
on their learning and career goals.
The LaGuardia partnership with The Museum of Modern
Art, yields exciting
collaborative projects like film
series, workshops and classes at the
museum.
Academic Advisement helps ensure
students are taking the right
courses for their major and their
continued education plans beyond
LaGuardia. The college also has many
resources for
tutoring and other academic support, including
The Writing Center, which helps all
degree students develop their
writing skills, regardless of their
major.
