LaGuardia's academic calendar consists of two enhanced 18-week semesters. Each semester is split into a 12-week session (Fall I and Spring I) and a 6-week session (Fall II and Spring II). Classes are longer and/or meet more frequently in Fall II and Spring II, since students have to complete Session I coursework in half the time.

This structure provides students with the option of earning more credits per semester than a traditional academic calendar. It also allows greater flexibility and choice in designing a program of study.

2009 SPRING SEMESTER - SESSION I

Thursday Mar. 5	Opening Sessions for Faculty and Staff

Monday Mar. 9	First Day of Weekday Spring Classes – Session I
Monday Mar. 9	100% Tuition Refund
March 10 - 16	75% Tuition Refund
Thursday Mar. 12	Last Day to Add a Course or Change a Course Section
Saturday Mar. 14	First Day of Saturday Spring Classes – Session I
Sunday Mar. 15	First Day of Sunday Spring Classes – Session I
March 17 - 23	50% Tuition Refund
March 24 - 30	25% Tuition Refund
Monday Mar. 30	*Last Day to Drop a Course & you may be eligible for a tuition refund/Census Day
Tuesday Mar. 31	Last Day to apply for Graduation
Tuesday Mar. 31	Last Day to apply for Nursing, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Asst. Candidacy
Friday April 3	First Attendance submission due to Registrar by faculty
April 6 - 12	Spring Break – No Classes
Thursday April 23	**Last Day to officially withdraw from a course with a “W” grade
Monday May 25	No Classes
Saturday June 6	Last Day of Saturday Classes – Session I
Sunday June 7	Last Day of Sunday Classes – Session I

June 10 - 16	Final Examinations

*Drop-Students may drop courses through the Census day of a session, not receive a grade, and may be eligible for a partial tuition refund

**Withdraw-Students may withdraw from classes after the Census date through this date; receive a W grade that is not calculated in the GPA. Students who officially withdraw from a course are NOT eligible for a tuition refund.
