LaGuardia’s Greatest Needs

A dynamic organization, LaGuardia Community College Foundation strives to carry out its mission to, “raise, manage, invest and distribute funds for the College in support of its immediate and long term student, academic and facility needs, goals and priorities”. Contributing to “LaGuardia Community College Foundation’s Greatest Needs” allows the Foundation to designate your gift to the area where it will have the most impact at the time it is received, including program development or support, tuition and textbook scholarships, faculty resources, tutoring, and other needs. Scholarships

LaGuardia Community College Foundation provides scholarships to students facing financial challenges. Programs at LaGuardia are designed to provide a wide range of learning opportunities in the areas of academic achievement, personal growth and career preparation. Emergency Fund

The emergency fund of the LaGuardia Community College Foundation is designed to provide immediate assistance to students in dire financial need. Many of our students lack resources to pay for basic academic needs. An emergency grant can help students to cover a one-time unaffordable expense-transportation, textbooks, or immediate tuition assistance. Most recently, we were able to extend emergency support to several students who couldn’t afford textbooks. Our help enabled them to participate meaningfully in college courses. Make a Gift 
 

Faculty Research

Foundation grants are provided to faculty engaged in innovative research. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. Recently, the Foundation funded research projects on understanding gender connection to HIV-AIDS in Latin America and the use of computer aided engineering. Programs, Enhanced Facilities and other Special Initiatives

LaGuardia Community College Foundation supports College programs such as API Tutors and has funded projects to enhance learning facilities such as labs used by our nursing students.
