A majority of the President’s Society students, like their
peers on campus, come from low income households and are the first in their
family to go to college. Over half were born outside the U.S. and lack fluency
in English. Most of them work multiple jobs and receive financial assistance to
be able to afford school.

Despite their lack of real-world skills, professional
confidence and connections, President’s Society students have the motivation
and ability to get ahead. They hold leadership positions at the College,
maintain high grades, and demonstrate a consistent commitment to enhancing
their lives and communities.
