LaGuardia Community College faculty, staff and students joined friends and supporters of the College at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers on June 7 to honor Edward I. Koch, the 105th Mayor of New York City and John Vogt, Regional Director of Restaurant Operations for White Castle, as recipients of the LaGuardia Community College Foundation’s 2011 Innovative Leadership Award for their significant contributions to higher education.
Through this event, the Foundation raised $130,000, the proceeds of which will be used for scholarships to help LaGuardia Community College students continue their education during the 2011-2012 academic year.
