  • Three Easy Steps to Register

    Check My LaGuardia and your student email for important messages about your Fall 2015 Advisement and Registration.

    Register Now for Fall 2015 by logging into CUNYfirst. 

  •  Step 1. Meet with your advising team

    You must be advised before registering. You have an Advising Team, based on your major, to help you map out the best route to graduation, a four-year college or a career. 

    To schedule an appointment with an advisor from your Advising Team, visit the Student Advising website for info on your advisors, or check your major's Advising Guide.

    Before your advisement meeting - Be prepared.

    1.  Read your team’s Advising Guide learn more about your major.  

    2.  Print your Degree Audit and a list of courses you wish to take for the semester. Bring them to your meeting.
         - Review your Degree Audit. It is a useful tool to help you determine the right classes to take next semester. Click here for instructions on how to access your Degree Audit.
         - If you have a negative service indicator (formerly known as a stop), such as "B" from the Bursar's office, please clear all negative service indicators before you register. You can view them under "STOPS" on the first screen of your CUNYfirst account.

    3.  Write down any questions you may have for your advisor.

    If you are unable to meet with your advisor in person, please log in to My LaGuardia, click on “Ask an Advisor” to submit the courses you are interested in taking and any other general questions.

    After your advisement meeting

    1.  Please check your CUNYfirst account for your assigned registration appointment date. 

    2.  Register via CUNYfirst. Need help? Visit the Registration Lab in room B218 for assistance.

    Please continue to check My LaGuardia, your student email or the college events calendar for advising events for your major.

     Step 2. Register for classes

    A. Register by logging into CUNYfirst.

    B. Click here to learn on how to Claim your CUNYfirst ID.

    C. Registration can be done from any computer with internet access.

    D. Need help? Visit the Registration Lab in room B218.

     Step 3. Verify your financial aid and pay your bill

    View your “Total Due” and your payment due date on CUNYfirst. If you do not have a remaining balance enjoy your classes! If you have a remaining balance, explore funding sources below: 

    1. Renew and/or File your FAFSA for Federal Student Aid! Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to apply. Need help?  Visit Financial Aid Resource Center in room C109.
    2. Apply for a Foundation scholarship.
    3. Need a payment plan? Visit CUNY payment plan website or call (888) 470-6014.
    4. Visit the Bursar’s office in room C110 to settle your tuition bill.
