You must be advised before registering. You have an Advising Team, based on your major, to help you map out the best route to graduation, a four-year college or a career.
To schedule an appointment with an advisor from your Advising Team, visit your major's website or the student advising website for info on your advisors.
Before your advisement meeting - Be prepared.
1. Review your major's website for a list of your Advising Team, degree requirements, recommended course list, etc.
2. Check your CUNYfirst account to see if you have any negative service indicators (HOLDS), e.g. "B" from the Bursar's Office. You can view them under HOLDS on the first screen of your CUNYfirst account. Holds must be cleared before registering.
3. Print your Degree Audit and a list of courses you wish to take for the semester. Bring them to your meeting. - Review your Degree Audit. It is a useful tool to help you determine the right classes to take next semester. Click here for instructions on how to access your Degree Audit.
4. Write down any questions you may have for your advisor.
If you are unable to meet with your advisor in person, get advised online. Log in to My LaGuardia, click on “Ask an Advisor” to submit the courses you are interested in taking and any other general questions.
After your advisement meeting1. Check your CUNYfirst account for your assigned registration appointment date.

D. Visit the Bursar’s Office in Room C-110 to settle your tuition bill.
