    Basketball Skills Academy

    LaGuardia’s Basketball Skills Academy gives players ages 6-18 the opportunity to learn the concepts and fundamentals of basketball and develop their overall game. The skills academy focuses on helping athletes improve their skills and develop their talent by learning beginner level and experienced level practice drills, and preparing high school student-athletes for the upcoming basketball season in an air conditioned gymnasium.

    Ben Chobhaphand
    Instructor: LaGuardia Red Hawks Men's Basketball Head Coach - Coach Ben Chobhaphand

    Ben Chobhaphand is the head men’s basketball coach at LaGuardia Community College. He is an experienced basketball coach, instructor and administrator. He has coached basketball for over 10 years at JHS, HS and collegiate level. He has developed players at the NBA, Division 1, 2, and 3 levels and at the elite high school level.




     Skills Academy includes: 

    • Small Group Instruction
    • Competitive games
    • One on One instruction
    • Drills and Skills Stations
       

    Specific Skills include: 

    • Shooting
    • Dribbling
    • Passing
    • Defensive Principles
    • One on One moves
    • Post-up game
    • Agility training

    Who Can Attend:  Boys & Girls ages 6-18, grouped by age/skill
    Sessions:  6 - sessions (1.5 hour each)
    Dates:  May 11, 18, (no Class on May 25); June 1, 8, 15, 22 
    Time:  10:30 a.m. - 12 noon
    Fee:  $160
