Beginning with the Fall 2009 semester in order to advance into nursing clinical coursework, (Application for candidacy in RN or PN Programs), students must provide documentation in one of the following categories:

1. US citizenship
2. Permanent residency
3. International student with F1 status
4. Granted asylum, Refuge Status, Temporary Protected Status, Withholding of Removal, Deferred Enforced Departure, or Deferred Action Status by the U.S. government.

Upon entering the clinical phase of the PN Program, the student should be able to complete the program in one complete academic year (e.g. Fall I, Fall II and Spring I and Spring II).      

Upon completing the clinical phase of the Practical Nursing Certificate Program, the student can take a bridge course to be offered by the RN Nursing Program which will enable the student to articulate into the second year, Parent-Child Nursing, SCR 270 Nursing Course. 

 After obtaining their state license for practical nursing (LPN), students interested in the LPN to RN Advanced Pathway should get counseling before applying for candidacy (LRN 000.4799).
