Interior Designs (ID), a new work by Carolyn Dorfman, is being premiered as part of the 30 year celebration of the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company (www.cddc.info) on May 17 and 18, 2013, at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (www.lagcc.cuny.edu/lpac/). Through ID, Ms. Dorfman has created an immersive environment for the audience that reveals the internal and external worlds of both performer and spectator as the entire theater becomes the stage.

Interior Designs is a collaboration between CDDC Founder and Artistic Director, Carolyn Dorfman, and other accomplished New York area women artists, including the award-winning Sarajevo-born composer, Svjetlana Bukvich; video designer, Kate Freer (with partner David Tennent of IMA); lighting designer, Kate Ashton; and costume designer, Anna-Alisa Belous. Together, they have created a highly interactive work that integrates and explores art forms and performance practices as the work reveals the interior worlds of performers and the audience. Dorfman’s sensuous duet, Keystone, riveting Hour Glass and Doug Elkins’ hip-hop and vogueing, Narcoleptic Lovers will also be performed.
